Choosing A Profitable Product Or Program In A Profitable Niche As Internet Affiliate Marketer

In Internet marketing you don’t need a product of your own to make money online.

There are probably over a million different affiliate programs on the Internet and they sell a countless number of different products and services. On the one hand this is almost fantastical, because all you need to do is find the right product or program for you, sign up as an affiliate and earn commissions on every sale generated from your affiliate link to the product’s sale page.

So, you have abundance to choose from, but the other side of the coin is that this very luxurious availability of products and programs to choose from is also, ironically, one of the main reasons why most affiliate marketers fail to achieve success. They get overwhelmed, confused, they suffer from information overload resulting in jumping from the one affiliate program to the next without commitment to, perseverance with and focus on one or a very limited number good quality and high converting products.

And of course, within this very wide selection of affiliate products to choose from, many are mere fluff, others of very little substance and some are simply scams or unethical in nature.

The best way to guard yourself against the scams and information overload is to decide on and stick to a profitable niche and a select few products with mass appeal within that niche. Focus only on information and ideas relevant to your business. I know this sounds overly simplistic, but it really is the single most valuable piece of information I can give to any new marketer! Pick a place to start, and focus on simply that one aspect of your online business. Master that one facet, and then move on to the next. Any successful marketer will confirm this process. You’re probably saying, “I already know that”, and perhaps you do. But do you apply it?

You’ve got to market a good product that appeals to a very large number of people while the sales page you send people to is professional looking with killer web copy that grabs your prospective customers attention and compels them to buy.

*Side Note: Savvy and the most successful affiliate marketers don’t send people directly to an affiliate sales page,  they  first send them to their own squeeze page or lead capture page. Get people to sign up to your own email list first by offering them something of great value for free. Once you have them on your own mailing list, you have plenty time and opportunity to market your affiliate product to them. Choosing a profitable niche suited to your inclination and interest requires a little research, but it’s really easy and free to get this type of information. Just Google: “profitable niche ideas” and you’d be amazed at the amount and quality of information at your fingertips.You can also go to Amazon.com, magazines.com, 43things.com, Yahoo Answers, and many other sites to get some good ideas.
